Newly documented polar bear population lives in a surprising place

A genetically distinct and isolated population of polar bears have been newly documented living in Southeast Greenland. The bears have evolved to live without sea ice, which is crucial for most polar bears to survive. Instead, they use freshwater glacier ice.
